School Policy

A&G Driving School Ltd. — Please read carefully before enrolling.

A&G Driving School Ltd. is committed to providing a safe, professional, and effective learning environment for all students. By enrolling, students acknowledge that they have read and agree to all policies outlined below.

Media Consent — Photo & Video Policy

Photos and videos may be captured during training sessions for instructional review, safety feedback, promotional materials, and website or social media use. Students who object to appearing in promotional materials must provide written notification. The school will not publish personal names without consent.

Assumption of Risk

Students acknowledge the inherent risks of driving training, including vehicle collisions, personal injury, damage to property, and exposure to road hazards. Participation is voluntary and at the student’s own risk.

Liability Waiver

A&G Driving School Ltd., its owners, employees, instructors, and representatives shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, accident, damage, or claim arising from participation in training. This covers classroom sessions, yard activities, pre-trip inspections, road sessions, ICBC tests, and travel to and from training locations.

Release & Indemnification

Students release the school from claims and agree to defend it against any third-party claims resulting from their actions during training.

Medical Fitness

Students must confirm they are medically fit to operate a vehicle and disclose any condition that may affect their ability to drive. All ICBC medical requirements must be met before training begins. Failure to disclose a relevant condition may result in immediate training termination without refund.

Lesson Scheduling

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
  • Missed lessons without notice may be counted as completed time.
  • Each hour of driving includes approximately 10 minutes of debrief and feedback.
  • Only one instructor and one student are permitted per vehicle during training.

Student Conduct

Professional behaviour is required at all times. Training may be terminated without refund for unsafe driving, refusal to follow instructor directions, harassment, attending while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or causing damage to equipment.

Safety Requirements

  • Closed-toe footwear is mandatory for all training sessions.
  • A high-visibility vest is required for all yard activities.
  • All instructor safety directions must be followed at all times.

Non-compliance may result in lesson cancellation or suspension of training.

Truck Entry & Exit Safety

Students must maintain three-point contact when entering or exiting cabs, use all available handholds, and never jump from vehicles. Violations may result in immediate lesson cancellation.

Vehicle Cleanliness

Vehicles must be kept clean throughout training. No garbage is permitted in cabs. Dirty clothing or contaminated items are prohibited. Students may be required to clean vehicles if excessive dirt or debris is left behind.

Drug & Alcohol Policy

A zero-tolerance policy is strictly enforced. Training will not proceed if a student appears to be impaired. Lessons cancelled due to impairment will not be refunded.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

  • No refunds are issued after Class 1 or Class 3 training has begun.
  • A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to cancel before training starts.
  • A $1,000 cancellation fee applies for reserved training seats.
  • Missed lessons without notice will be counted as completed training time.

Road Test Policy

ICBC determines road test scheduling. The student is responsible for all booking fees. The school training vehicle is included for the first test only. Failed tests require additional paid training before rebooking.

Traffic Violations & Fines

Students bear full responsibility for any traffic violations, tickets, or penalties issued while operating a school training vehicle.

Vehicle Damage Responsibility

Students may be held liable for damages resulting from reckless conduct, ignoring instructor directions, or unsafe vehicle operation. Responsibility may include insurance deductibles and uninsured repair costs. Unsafe operation may result in immediate training termination.

Weather & Mechanical Delays

Severe weather, mechanical issues, road closures, or ICBC delays may affect lesson scheduling. Rescheduled sessions resulting from these circumstances do not qualify for refunds.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of British Columbia. Any disputes will be resolved through the provincial courts of British Columbia.
